Police are searching for a suspect in an armed robbery that occurred early Saturday morning in the 600 block of Wisconsin Street.

According to Lawrence Police Sgt. Michael McLaren, police were dispatched just after 1 a.m. to the EconoLodge, 2222 West 6th St. for a suspected aggravated robbery. McLaren said the robbery had happened 20 minutes earlier and in the 600 block of Wisconsin Street.

McLaren said a 20-year-old man from Kansas City, Kan., was walking north on the curb when a white passenger vehicle stopped next to him. The driver, who was wearing a ski mask, demanded all his money. The suspect took the man’s wallet with an undetermined amount of cash. The victim was not injured.
