Lawrence man arrested after putting gun to victim’s neck

A Lawrence man was arrested Sunday morning after putting a gun to another person’s neck.

The incident took place in the 100 block of West 14th street about 3:20 a.m. Sunday.

Lawrence Police Sgt. Ted Bordman said the two subjects were inside a residence in the area when Jason Herman, 36, displayed a firearm and pressed it to the victim’s neck. The victim called 9-1-1 and when officers arrived at the scene they recovered the firearm and took Herman into custody without incident. The victim was not injured.

Herman is being charged with aggravated battery in relation to the incident.
