National Merit Semifinalists named
Twelve local high school students are National Merit Semifinalists and have the opportunity to continue in the nationwide competition for some 8,200 National Merit Scholarships.
Eight Free State High School students and four Lawrence High School students could win a $2,500 scholarship, one of about 1,000 corporate-sponsored awards or a scholarship from one of about 200 colleges and universities. Winners are announced April through July. Here’s a look at each semifinalist.
