University introduces arts passports

Kansas University has announced a new program to promote attendance at arts events.

The Passport to the Arts program is part of a celebration to introduce the School of the Arts in KU’s College of Liberal Arts & Sciences.

The school was created after a reorganization of the old School of Fine Arts.

Each time patrons attend an arts event from a list of happenings, they are given a stamp. Collecting one stamp from a KU event and another from a community event is good for a coupon for local stores or for future events.

Three stamps from KU events and three stamps from community events from October through April will be redeemable for a student-designed T-shirt and an invitation to a year-end party.

Passports can be downloaded at artspassport.ku.edu or picked up after Sept. 24 at locations throughout Lawrence, including the Spencer Museum of Art, University Theatre, Lawrence Arts Center, Lawrence Community Theatre, Lawrence Public Library, Liberty Hall and Van Go Arts.
