Man gets 13 years for robbery, firing shots

A Gardner man will spend 13 years in prison for robbing two people at gunpoint in Lawrence in January, then firing shots at a vehicle on Kansas Highway 10.

Terrell Griffin took back a request to withdraw his plea in the case and was sentenced in Douglas County District Court on Friday.

Griffin pleaded guilty in April to four felonies, including aggravated robbery and criminal discharge of a firearm.

In his plea, Griffin admitted he was one of two men who robbed two victims at gunpoint, as the victims were walking in the 1600 block of West Ninth Street on Jan. 10.

He then fired shots at a car heading eastbound on K-10 near Eudora.
