Kemper awards given at KU Medical Center

Kansas University Medical Center officials have announced that two professors earned Kemper Awards on the Kansas City, Kan., campus.

KU Medical Center officials surprised Gary Doolittle, professor of internal medicine, division of hematology/oncology, and Curtis Klaassen, University Distinguished Professor and chairman of pharmacology, toxicology and therapeutics, with the $5,000 awards earlier this week.

Now in their 14th year, the Kemper Awards are supported by the William T. Kemper Foundation and the KU Endowment Association. In all, 20 professors on the Lawrence campus and at KU Medical Center were honored.
