Haskell coach faces revocation of bond
Haskell head football coach Eric Brock was booked into the Johnson County Jail last week, accused of violating a condition of his bond in an earlier case.
According to Kristi Bergeron at the Johnson County District Attorney’s Office, Brock is charged with a third offense DUI, having no insurance, refusing to submit to a Breathalyzer test and speeding. The charges stem from a Feb. 14 incident in Johnson County.
Bond for Brock, who lives in Lawrence, was set at $10,000. The arrest was made Aug. 24, and he was released from the Johnson County Jail the following afternoon.
“Because this is an ongoing legal matter, I have no comment at this time,” Brock said. “However, I look forward to my date in court, as I am confident in the legal system.”
Ted Juneau, Haskell’s athletic director, said he could not comment on the incident because “it is a personnel issue.”
Brock, who played football for Haskell in the early 1990s, took over as head coach in 2002.
His next court date, which is a hearing on whether to revoke his bond, is scheduled for Thursday.
