Lions fall, 49-6

Lawrence High drops to 0-7 on the season

October 16, 2009

— After a dreadful first half in which they trailed 42-0 at the break, Lawrence High played even with Olathe Northwest in the second half but still fell, 49-6.

The loss dropped the Lions to 0-7 on the season.

Next week, LHS will play at Free State, which defeated Leavenworth, 55-0, on Friday night.

Halftime update

It was supposed to be a game the Lions could win.

Right now, though, a win is the last thing that looks possible as Lawrence High (0-6) trails Olathe Northwest (2-4), 42-0, at halftime.

The Ravens have scored on runs of 46, 27, 4 and 1 yard. They also added an interception return for a touchdown and a punt return for a touchdown.

The Lions, meanwhile have gained just 42 yards of offense.

IS THE WRITING ON THE WALL YET IM A FREE STATE GRAD BUT IT PAINS ME TO SEE ANY LAWRENCE SCHOOL FAIL LIKE THIS. i feel horrible for those players, and the fact that they have to suffer through a horrible coach. Lawrence high school has had such a grand tradition in football, its time to bring that back
