Former Shell executive to speak at KU Friday

A former energy leader and Kansas University alumna will discuss energy and the environment Friday.

Linda Cook, former executive director of Natural Gas and Power for Royal Dutch Shell, is scheduled to deliver the KU School of Engineering Distinguished Lecture at 4 p.m. Friday at the Spahr Engineering Classroom in Eaton Hall.

The event will feature a question-and-answer session and is free and open to the public. The talk will cover energy, the environment and career development.

Cook received a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering from KU in 1980, and retired from Shell this year.
