A 23-year-old Lawrence man was arrested early Tuesday on charges of battery and disorderly conduct after an incident at Perkins Restaurant, 1711 W. 23rd St.
According to Lawrence Police Sgt. Ted Bordman, the man became upset with the restaurant staff and struck a waiter. The suspect, who left the restaurant on foot, heading south, was arrested four minutes after the call was initially dispatched.
The victim suffered no injuries.
The suspect was detained at 2:47 a.m. in the 2400 block of Ousdahl.
Jail records indicate he was released on $200 bond, pending a Dec. 9 hearing in Lawrence Municipal Court.

well renaissance I would say a drunk does, well at least that 23year old drunk does. Really what kinda of get away was that, walking not even running but I am thankfull he did not get behind the wheel of a car.

I've only been put off by the greasy feeling booths and dirty looking carpet. It has an odor too. That interior needs a complete makeover. All three times I've been there, the staff was good to us and the food was great. I just won't go back until the place is cleaner.

alm, i agree about the cleanliness of the restaurant but the last time i went there (which was probably well over a year ago), the food wasn't even that good.
back in the day, and i'm talking way back-- like in the early 90s and prior-- perkins was really good. one of my favorite breakfast places to eat. it was always clean, atleast as clean as most ihops, and the food was always good. it has really fallen off... i heard that the chain is suffering financially and if that is true, i know why.

I have always had good service by the waitresses. But, the last time I was in there I had a bug in my food. They were nice enough to take $4 off my bill and the manager just gave me an excuse about how impossible it was to keep all the bugs out. Won't go back.

I guess it could depend on what time of the day you go to what type of service you get. I usually frequent the place on friday mornings and the service and food I receive are always good.
Perkins could use a spring cleaning. I agree the carpet needs replacing. Overall, it's not a bad restaurant in Lawrence.
