Man arrested on battery, disorderly conduct charges after incident at Perkins Restaurant

A 23-year-old Lawrence man was arrested early Tuesday on charges of battery and disorderly conduct after an incident at Perkins Restaurant, 1711 W. 23rd St.

According to Lawrence Police Sgt. Ted Bordman, the man became upset with the restaurant staff and struck a waiter. The suspect, who left the restaurant on foot, heading south, was arrested four minutes after the call was initially dispatched.

The victim suffered no injuries.

The suspect was detained at 2:47 a.m. in the 2400 block of Ousdahl.

Jail records indicate he was released on $200 bond, pending a Dec. 9 hearing in Lawrence Municipal Court.
