Three Kansas University students reported Thursday the attempted burglary of their residence in the 2900 block of University Drive.

According to police reports, the students, two women and one man, all 22 years old, reported $8,000 worth of damage to doors and a safe inside the residence. The incident occurred between 1:40 a.m. and 1:46 a.m. Thursday.

The police report indicates the entry into the building was not forced.
