• A 53-year-old Perry woman was hospitalized Saturday morning after a semitrailer collided with her 2006 Ford passenger car.

According to Kansas Highway Patrol accident reports, Neba J. Coble was driving westbound on U.S. Highway 24 about one mile west of Perry. As she signaled to make a right turn, Allan Pippert, a 57-year-old Lawrence man driving a semitrailer, tried to pass Coble. Coble then signaled to make a left turn and pulled into the path of the semi.

Coble was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital after the accident, which occurred at 8 a.m. She was not wearing her seat belt. A hospital spokesman said Saturday night that Coble was treated and released from LMH.
