Regents mum after meeting to discuss search for KU chancellor

Members of the Kansas Board of Regents met Thursday and planned to meet again today to discuss the Kansas University chancellor search.

After Thursday’s three-hour meeting — in closed session — Regents and Regents staffers declined to comment. The board will meet again at 8 a.m. today in Topeka, also in closed session.

A search committee has been tasked with delivering the names of three to five finalists for the job to the regents, who ultimately are responsible for choosing a new chancellor from among those candidates.

Chancellor Robert Hemenway has announced his intention to step down from his post at the end of June to return to teaching and writing.
