Two men still hospitalized from May 18 head-on collision near Eudora

Both men involved in a May 18 accident southwest of Eudora remain hospitalized.

Nicholas Mann, 18, of Wellsville, was driving a Ford Taurus east in the 1800 section of County Road 458, when he lost control, drifted left of the center line and struck a pickup truck head-on, Douglas County sheriff’s officials said.

The driver of the truck, Everett Farmer Jr., 72, of Eudora, is listed in fair condition at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Mann was extricated from his car and flown by air ambulance to Kansas University Hospital, where hospital officials will not release his condition.

Officers are still investigating what caused Mann’s vehicle to drift into the oncoming lane, and no citations have been issued, Douglas County Undersheriff Steve Hornberger said Tuesday.
