Streets to close on KU campus
Kansas University’s steam tunnels may be underground, but their repairs will force closures of portions of two major streets on campus following commencement.
Beginning Monday and continuing through Aug. 10, Mississippi Street is scheduled to be closed between Jayhawk Boulevard and Memorial Drive.
A short section of Sunflower Drive — from a loading dock at Watson Library to a parking lot at the main Facilities Operations building — also will be closed during that time.
Wescoe Drive, beginning at Sunflower Drive and extending west behind Stauffer-Flint Hall, is scheduled to be closed from Monday until June 15.
If rain forces postponement of commencement until Monday, the road closures would be delayed until Tuesday, KU officials said. KU’s fall semester begins Aug. 20.
