A Johnson County man was arrested for allegedly attacking two people Thursday morning outside a bar near the Kansas University campus, Lawrence police said.

Officers took the 21-year-old man into custody after a physical fight on the east side of The Wheel, near 14th and Ohio streets, said Kim Murphree, police spokeswoman.

“The victims did not need medical attention,” she said.

The suspect, from the small town of Stilwell, south of Overland Park, was booked into Douglas County Jail on charges of battery and interfering with the duties of a law enforcement officer.

A 22-year-old man was also arrested for allegedly interfering with the duties of a law enforcement officer.

wow, this is weird. i was at the wheel last night and 4 cop cars were there. but all the cops were standing in front of the wheel and they had no idea why they were called there. they were just talking to anyone out front to find out who had called them. i thought it was all a hoax. I'm glad they found out what happened.

So, one guy attacked two guys? Why? I would love to know what provoked him. "A 22-year-old man was also arrested for interfering with the duties of a law enforcement officer." What exactly does that mean?

The Wheel is always a little sketchy on Wednesday nights. Honestly, I think it's because of the overflow from The Hawk's dollar night.
