Douglas County Sheriff’s officers and Lawrence fire department officials responded Wednesday to a report about a body in the Kansas River. About 6:15 p.m., officials looked along the banks of the river but were not able to find anything. An official with the Douglas County Sheriff’s office said the river was too high to search with a boat.

Douglas County Sheriff’s officers and Lawrence fire department officials responded Wednesday evening to a report about a body in the Kansas River.
About 6:15 p.m., officials looked along the banks of the river but were not able to find anything. An official with the Douglas County Sheriff’s office said the river was too high to search with a boat.
Because officials were unable to find a body and no missing people had been reported, they decided that the report was unfounded.

Was this evening or afternoon? Since the quoted time is 6:15 pm then that is evening, NOT afternoon.
