A public memorial for Republican politician Jack Kemp will be on display through Saturday at the Dole Institute of Politics at Kansas University.
Kemp, who died last Saturday, was the Republican vice presidential nominee and Bob Dole’s running mate in 1996. He had also served as secretary of Housing and Urban Development in the George H.W. Bush administration and as a member of Congress representing New York. Before turning to politics he was a professional football player.
The institute will display a memorial book, photos and memorabilia, and the public is invited to leave comments and condolences in the book.
The memorial will be on display from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily at the institute, 2350 Petefish Drive.
