Panel to discuss situation in Pakistan

A four-person panel is scheduled to examine current events in Pakistan. The event, “Pakistan Panel III: Internal Crisis/External Impact,” is free and open to the public. It is scheduled from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday in the Jayhawk Room at the Kansas Union.

The panel will examine the situation in Pakistan and the region after Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry’s return to the position following a struggle to secure an independent judiciary.

Members of the panel are Rauf Arif, a Fulbright journalism graduate student from Pakistan; Bill Lambert, associate professor in the Department of Joint, Interagency and Multinational Operations at the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth; Rose Greaves, professor emeritus of history; and Col. Tom Wilhelm, director of foreign military studies, Fort Leavenworth.
