LHS baseball falls

? Lawrence High’s baseball team fell, 2-0, to Midwest City (Okla.) on Saturday in the Edmond Festival.

The Lions, who only produced one hit on Saturday, dropped to 0-2 on the season. Ben Wyatt took the loss for Lawrence.

“(Ben) took the loss, but he battled and was effective with his breaking ball,” LHS coach Brad Stoll said. “He’ll be really good for us.

“We just couldn’t get anything going offensively. We lit the scoreboard up the night before (in 11-8 loss), but couldn’t get in an offensive rhythm today. They threw a left-hander who kept the ball down and away, and defensively they made some great plays.”

Lawrence will play at Shawnee Heights at 5 p.m. Friday.
