An 18-year-old Lawrence man complained of minor injuries, after crashing a car into a house Thursday night, authorities said.

The accident happened at 9:35 p.m., at County Road 438 and East 1200 Road, which turns into Kasold Drive in Lawrence.

The driver, Kendall Schmitendorf, ran a stop sign, hit a ditch and then crashed into the porch of a home at the intersection, Douglas County Undersheriff Steve Hornberger said.

Schmitendorf was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, where a hospital spokeswoman said he was treated and released.
