Cavaliers recall Jackson

Cleveland — The Cleveland Cavaliers recalled rookie forward Darnell Jackson from Erie of the NBA Development League on Thursday. Jackson, a Kansas University product, has averaged just 1.0 point and 1.2 rebounds in 37 games for the Cavaliers. He was sent to Erie on Wednesday and scored 15 points with six rebounds in a win over Austin.

Jackson was selected in the second round by Miami in last year’s draft by the Miami Heat, who traded him to the Cavaliers for a lower pick.

Curry gains custody

Chicago — The grandmother of Eddy Curry’s 3-year-old son on Thursday night obeyed a Cook County judge’s order to transfer custody of the child to the New York Knicks player, hours after telling a newspaper that she planned to flee with the boy.

Cook County sheriff’s office spokesman Steve Patterson confirmed Yolan Henry handed the boy over late Thursday.
