County Commission meeting moved

Douglas County Commissioners have moved their weekly Monday morning meeting because of renovations.

They will meet at 8:10 a.m. Monday in the basement courtroom of the Judicial and Law Enforcement Center, 111 E. 11th St., instead of their regular room on the second floor of the Douglas County Courthouse, 1100 Mass.

The meeting has been moved because a crew will be replacing the stained-glass windows in the commission chambers, Commissioner Nancy Thellman said.

The agenda includes considering a construction bid to reconstruct a half-mile stretch of County Road 1057 west of Eudora later this year. The public works department recommends that commissioners approve the low bid of $322,308 from LRM Industries.

Commissioners also will have a public hearing to discuss applying for community development block grant funds to assist Health Care Access. The clinic which serves uninsured Douglas County residents plans to move to a bigger site that is closer to Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
