Semi hits pole early Thursday morning leaving many without power

There are just three Westar Energy customers who remain without power, according to the customer’s Web sites. The remaining outages are away from the area of 23rd and Ousdahl, where a semi-truck struke a power pole about 1:15 this morning.
6:26 a.m.
There were still 636 Westar Energy customers without power as of 6:26 a.m., according to the company’s Web site.
4:46 a.m.
As of 4:46 a.m., 636 customers were still without power.
2:37 a.m.
According to Westar Energy’s Web site, 845 customers remain without power.
1:15 a.m.
A semi-truck hit a power pole at 23rd and Ousdahl early Thursday morning, knocking out power for over 1500 Westar Energy customers, according to Westar’s Web site and Leonard Allen, senior communications representative for the company. As of 1:15 a.m., 1587 customers were without power, according to the Web site.
The Journal-World received reports of the power being out at Eddingham Place Apartments, which is near 24th and Ousdahl Streets, as well as businesses west of the apartments in the 1600 block of 23rd Street.
