Man arrested after dispute with neighbors

A 50-year-old Lawrence man was arrested Monday evening on charges of aggravated assault.

Lawrence police responded around 6 p.m. to a report of a man threatening his neighbors with a firearm at 101 N. Mich. According to Lawrence Police, the man went back inside his trailer before officers arrived.

When the man did not leave his home, police called to him over a loudspeaker and repeatedly tried to make cell phone contact with him.

The suspect came out of the trailer, unarmed, at 6:41 p.m. and was taken into custody.

At 6:56 p.m., an adult female and a child came out of the trailer. At 7:35 p.m., an adult male attempted to escape by sneaking out of the back of the home. The man who attempted to flee, a 42-year-old from Lawrence, was arrested on a standing warrant.
