KU football lands two commitments

The Kansas University football team’s 2010 commitment list grew by two this week with the addition of three-star prospects Geneo Grissom and Jacoby Walker.

Grissom, a 6-foot-4, 230-pound defensive end from Hutchinson, selected the Jayhawks over Colorado State, while Walker, a 6-foot-2, 210-pound dual-threat quarterback out of Texas’ Westfield High, also garnered offers from Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Kansas State and Syracuse.

“Before the (KU) Spring Game, Todd Reesing, Kerry Meier, and Darrell Stuckey talked about the Kansas program,” Walker told the Web site. “They talked about how sometimes Kansas didn’t land the five-star recruits but how their program has turned around and they are winning. It seemed like a big family and they talked about how everybody comes to Kansas to win. I wanted to be a part of that.”

The pair joins previous commitments Dave Clark (cornerback, Independence), Jeremiah Edwards (defensive tackle, Garland, Texas) and Ricki Herod Jr. (wide receiver, Mesquite, Texas).
