The Kansas Department of Health and Environment distributed $7.7 million in federal stimulus money Wednesday, including $170,000 for Kansas University.

The money for KU will go to various landscaping projects on its West Campus, with the goal of green stormwater management and preserved natural space.

KDHE will fund 15 new projects with the $7.7 million, selected based on their green components, readiness to proceed, anticipated water-quality benefits and other factors.
