Stephenson picks Cincinnati

? Lance Stephenson finally has found a college he can call home.

The 6-foot-5 high school basketball sensation from Brooklyn, N.Y.’s Lincoln High, on Tuesday signed a financial aid agreement with the University of Cincinnati.

“We are very excited about Lance’s decision to become a Bearcat,” Cincy head coach Mick Cronin said. “Lance has terrific talent as a basketball player and is also a fierce competitor on the court. His desire to win will help us compete for a Big East Championship.”

Stephenson at one point favored Kansas University. He also considered St. John’s, Maryland, Memphis and Arizona. KU dropped him as a recruit after receiving an April commitment from Xavier Henry.

Various of his other finalists also dropped him, either because of his pending court date over an assault charge or questions about his eligibility.
