Law enforcement report

• A 24-year-old Lawrence woman reported aggravated assault and criminal damage at 12:37 a.m. Thursday. Sgt. Michael McLaren said she was stopped at the 31st and Iowa streets traffic light when the passenger in the car next to hers got out, walked up to her window and began making derogatory statements before smashing her driver’s side window. She drove away.

The suspect is described as a 20-year-old, 5-foot-10 white male with blond hair, last seen in a small black passenger car.

• A 36-year-old Lawrence woman was beaten at 12:25 a.m. Thursday after attempting to deter a vehicle burglary at her neighbor’s house. McLaren said the victim didn’t seek medical treatment after the aggravated battery. She reported seeing her neighbor’s vehicle being burglarized and confronted the four suspects. One of the suspects battered her, he said.

McLaren said the suspects caused about $150 worth of damage to the vehicle. Police are still looking for suspects.

• Lawrence police arrested a 21-year-old Mission man and a 19-year-old Lawrence man on charges of vehicle burglary and battery. They were arrested in the 3700 block of Clinton Parkway at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Bond was not set.
