Two people were transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital Thursday night after a single-vehicle accident on the Kansas Turnpike in northern Lawrence.

According to a Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical official, both patients suffered nonlife-threatening injuries in the accident, which happened about 9:27 p.m. in the westbound lanes of the KTA Kansas River bridge. The official did not immediately release information on the cause of the accident or any additional information on patient conditions.
