Olathe man, 21, sentenced to 14 years for January crime spree

A 21-year-old Olathe man was sentenced to nearly 14 years in prison Friday afternoon for his role in a January crime spree that included the robbery of two people at gunpoint in Lawrence and shots being fired at a vehicle on Kansas Highway 10, Douglas County prosecutors said.

Christopher Forbush-Willis, 21, of Olathe, pleaded guilty in October of two counts of attempted aggravated robbery and one count of criminal discharge of a firearm at an occupied vehicle, all felonies. District Judge Michael Malone handed down a 165-month prison sentence on Friday.

His accomplice, Terrell Griffin, 23, of Gardner, was sentenced in September to 13 years in prison for aggravated robbery, attempted aggravated robbery, criminal possession of a firearm, and criminal discharge of a firearm at an occupied vehicle.

Douglas County prosecutors said the men held up two people on Jan. 10 in the 1600 block of West Ninth Street and then fired shots at a car heading east on K-10 near Eudora.
