Chalmers’ start streak ends at 104 games

? Heat point guard Mario Chalmers was not in Miami’s starting lineup Tuesday night against the Toronto Raptors, marking the first time he has come off the bench in his young career.

The team did not specify a reason for the benching. Chalmers, the hero of Kansas’ run to the 2008 NCAA championship, was in uniform and on the active roster. Carlos Arroyo started in is place.

Chalmers had started 104 straight regular-season games since joining the Heat, plus all seven of Miami’s playoff games last spring.

Chalmers entered Tuesday averaging 9.5 points and 4.0 assists this season.
