Kansas University junior receiver Dezmon Briscoe is expected to announce Friday his decision to forgo his senior season and enter the 2010 NFL Draft.
Thursday night, following a team meeting in which players were informed that coach Mark Mangino had resigned, Briscoe acknowledged that he'd make a decision Friday, and indicated there was a press conference in the works.
Briscoe, who was named a first-team all-Big 12 selection earlier this week, finished his junior season with 84 receptions for 1,337 yards and nine touchdowns. He was fifth nationally in receiving yards per game (121.55) and eighth in catches per game (7.64).
According to a university release, Briscoe will discuss his future with the media Friday afternoon after men's basketball coach Bill Self meets with the media.

Might as well. Late first round pick by somebody like the Steelers, 'Boys or Patriots. Dez, your future is ahead of you. Thanks for coming to KU.

"Why does he do this?"

Why did the Grey Goose cross the road?

His decision had nothing to do with Perkins. You nerds crying about Perkins need to get over it.
BTW, Dez needs to learn to consistantly catch the ball AND hold on to it or he ain't going anywhere in the first round.

chubby, "Dez needs to learn...in the first round."
How does that work; does he take a class and show them his certificate and then they let him in the first round?"

First round?????
Fumbles, dropped passes? First round...I don't think so.
Unless maybe the Chiefs. They seem to look for those skills. I love the guy and he has been fun to watch, but it has issues.

There are a few of us fortunate to know Dez. He is a quiet soul with a ton of talent. Let's support those who are fortunate enough to be able to make the kind of decisions (NFL draft) that many of us or our children might dream of. Not every player plays a perfect game...room for growth is a must. I don't think he could grow anymore here at KU. A college degree will always be in his reach...the NFL won't.
