Topeka man injured in weekend motorcycle accident

A 24-year-old Topeka man was injured early Sunday in a single-vehicle motorcycle accident.

According to a Lawrence Police accident report, the man was traveling northbound on Kasold Drive near Bob Billings Parkway when he lost control of his Harley-Davidson Sportster motorcycle and skidded to a stop.

He was treated at the scene for a cut to his head and later transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital by police for additional treatment.

The man told police he had consumed three to four beers before riding the motorcycle and was traveling 15 to 20 miles per hour at the time of the accident.

Units responded to the scene at 12:29 a.m. Sunday.
