One transported to hospital after west Lawrence accident

A 68-year-old Topeka woman was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries Sunday morning after a two-vehicle accident in west Lawrence.

According to Lawrence Police Sgt. Michael McLaren, the woman reported shoulder and neck injuries at the scene. No one else was injured.

The accident happened at about 1:13 a.m. at the intersection of Sixth Street and Wakarusa Drive.

One vehicle was making a left turn from southbound Wakarusa into the eastbound lanes of Sixth and the other was going eastbound on Sixth when the two passenger cars collided in the middle of the intersection. McLaren said both drivers reported they had a green light.

No further information was made available by police Sunday night.
