Lawrence man injured in Turnpike rollover

20-year-old treated and released Sunday at LMH

A 20-year-old Lawrence man was injured Sunday afternoon in a single-vehicle accident on the Kansas Turnpike west of Lawrence.

He was treated and released Sunday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

According to the Kansas Turnpike Authority, the man was driving a 2004 Chevrolet sport utility vehicle in the left lane when he looked down at the radio and drifted onto the inside shoulder of the road. He then over-corrected the vehicle and drove into the ditch south of the road, where the vehicle hit an embankment and overturned.

Crews responded to the accident at 4:44 p.m.
