Kansas University receivers Dezmon Briscoe and Kerry Meier were among the 37 players named this week to the watch list for the Biletnikoff Award, given annually to the nation’s top receiver.

The pair marked the only same-team duo to be named to the list.

As a junior last season, Meier was one of 10 semi-finalists for the award after catching a school-record 97 passes for 1,045 yards and eight touchdowns in his first year as a full-time receiver. Briscoe, who recently rejoined the KU program after a lengthy suspension during the spring, set school marks in both receiving yards (1,407) and touchdowns (15), while finishing with 92 receptions as a sophomore in ’08.

One of the country’s most potent receiving pairs, Briscoe and Meier’s combined 189 receptions were tied for third in the nation for a pair of teammates, while their 2,452 receiving yards also tied for third.
