Concert planned tonight to honor KU student who died in March

A concert is planned for 7 tonight at the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity house, 1301 West Campus Road, to benefit the family of Jason Wren, a student who died in the fraternity’s house in March.

Proceeds from the concert, less overhead costs for the concert, will go to a memorial fund set up by Wren’s family, said Jonathan Nehring, the fraternity’s social chairman. The concert features artist Kelley James.

The concert and party will be alcohol-free in Wren’s memory, Nehring said. Wren died in his bed following a night of drinking.

Monday afternoon, Nehring said the fraternity expected more than 200 people to attend the concert. Tickets are available at the door for $10.
