— The Lawrence High girls soccer team was shut out by Olathe Northwest, 2-0, on Thursday.

The Lions were missing six girls, including three starters, because of the “Showtime” performance at LHS. They had just two girls coming off the bench.

LHS coach Matt Anderson said the Lions back line needed be commended for their play, especially senior Heather Miller and sophomore Kendyll Severa.

The loss dropped the Lions to 5-3 overall, 2-2 in the Sunflower League. Olathe Northwest moved to 7-2, 5-1 in league play.
