LHS baseball triumphs

? Clint Pinnick went 3-for-4, Aaron Rea went 2-for-4 and the Lawrence High baseball team defeated Olathe Northwest, 6-3, on Thursday night.

Albert Minnis, who pitched five effective innings and struck out eight, picked up the victory. Dorian Green struck out three in the final two innings to pick up the save.

“The good thing is offensively, we saw a Division I arm, didn’t strike out once and banged out 10 hits,” LHS coach Brad Stoll said of Northwest pitcher Garrett Kirk, who will attend Tennessee-Martin. “The coaching staff has been challenging our guys for consecutive competitive at-bats and we did that tonight.”
