Volunteers can help plant KU rain garden
Community members wanting to assist in the planting of more than 2,500 plants in a rain garden on the Kansas University campus are welcome to join an event Wednesday.
The Earth Day event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in front of the new addition to the Ambler Student Recreation Center. The plants are part of a design plan involving 22 native species.
The 5,000-square-foot rain garden is the product of efforts over the past two years by students, professionals and community members.
