Gardner man admits role in robbery, shooting

A Gardner man has admitted to robbing two people at gunpoint in Lawrence in January, and subsequently firing shots at a vehicle on Kansas Highway 10.

Terrell D. Griffin, 22, entered a guilty plea Tuesday to felony charges of aggravated robbery, attempted aggravated robbery, criminal discharge of a firearm and criminal possession of a firearm.

Griffin admitted he was one of two men who robbed two victims at gunpoint, as the victims were walking in the 1600 block of West Ninth Street about 1:10 a.m. Jan. 10. According to his plea, Griffin later fired shots at a car heading east on K-10. No one was hurt in that incident, but a vehicle was hit by several bullets.

Griffin’s sentencing is set for May 21. He faces more than 11 years in prison.

Two other suspects — Lindsey Abram and Christopher Forbush-Willis — have cases pending. A jury trial for Abram is set for June 8, and Forbush-Willis is due back in court April 23 for a motions hearing.
