Law enforcement report
¢ Baldwin City police apprehended a man who reportedly was speeding on U.S. Highway 59 about 9:25 p.m. Wednesday. He didn't yield to police and soon after hit a car at Eighth and Ames streets east of the highway, according to police dispatch. The man fled the scene on foot. Police chased him and caught him at 9:40 p.m. Further details were unavailable Wednesday night.
¢ Lawrence police are investigating a $3,429 pharmaceutical theft that reportedly occurred between 5:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. p.m. Tuesday at Hy-Vee, 3504 Clinton Parkway. Earlier in the day, police identified a container and its contents near the 2500 block of Scottsdale Street as the same materials reported stolen. No arrests have been made.
Burglaries and thefts reported
¢ A 45-year-old Eudora man reported $2,100 in criminal vehicle damage occurred Tuesday in the 1900 block of West 25th Street. The windshield, three windows and the steering column of a 1995 GMC truck were reportedly damaged.
¢ A U.S. Geological Survey employee reported the rear driver's side windows of a 1997 and a 1998 white Econoline van were damaged Sept. 16 at the research department, 4821 Quail Crest Place. The damage estimate is $1,000.
¢ Baldwin City police responded to a two-vehicle accident about 9 p.m. Wednesday near mile marker 11 on Kansas Highway 10. One person received minor injuries. Further details were unavailable Wednesday night.
Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical did not report calls Wednesday.
