KU to offer symposium on Parkinson’s disease

Parkinson’s disease and essential tremor affect more than 10 million Americans.

A free symposium on Sept. 27 will address new treatment options and research. The event will be from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Francisco Lounge Study Center Building at Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan. It is sponsored by KU Medical Center’s Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorder Center and KU Continuing Medical Education.

Topics include “Accepting Your Diagnosis and Living Well with Parkinson’s Disease or Essential Tremor” and “Deep Brain Stimulation for Parkinson’s Disease and Essential Tremor.”
