Baldwin City man waives right to hearing in indecent liberties case

A 42-year-old Baldwin City man who faces two charges of aggravated indecent liberties with a child waived his right to a preliminary hearing Tuesday afternoon in Douglas County District Court.

Defense attorney Greg Robinson asked District Judge Paula Martin for a few days before an arraignment so he could discuss the case with prosecutors.

Prosecutors allege the man was involved in lewd fondling or touching of a 13-year-old girl between July and August 2007 and in a separate act on Aug. 23 this year.

The Journal-World generally does not name suspects in sex crimes unless they are convicted.

Martin scheduled an arraignment for Sept. 25. The man remains in the Douglas County Jail on $250,000 bond.
