The Lawrence High football game scheduled for tonight with Shawnee Mission East has been canceled.

The Lions and Lancers will meet at noon Saturday at LHS on the field inside the track just off of 19th Street.

At about 6:15 tonight, LHS coach Dirk Wedd said his team was heading to the LHS gym to practice.

Several other area schools have been impacted by the severe weather. Eudora High’s game against De Soto has been moved to 7 p.m. Monday. Baldwin’s game at Gardner-Edgerton also has been moved to Monday night at 7 p.m. Perry-Lecompton’s game against Bishop Ward has been moved to Piper High School’s field and was scheduled to begin at approximately 7:30 p.m.

At last check, Mill Valley High was waiting out the weather with the hope of playing tonight, and Tonganoxie High’s contest at Osawatomie was to be played as originally scheduled.

No other area schools have reported changes to the schedule.
