Magazine recognizes KU law school

Kansas University’s law school is being recognized for its hands-on educational opportunities, which range from representing clients through law school offices under the supervision of faculty to working in the offices of county prosecutors.

National Jurist magazine named KU’s program 10th in the nation in providing students opportunities to practice law while they are in school.

The magazine’s September issue ranked law schools that offer the most clinical opportunities. It used data from the 2008 edition of the “Official Guide to ABA-Approved Law Schools.”

“Students have made contacts that have been invaluable in securing future employment,” said David Gottlieb, associate dean for clinical programs and a law professor. “Just as important, if not more, the experience helps students decide on the career paths that make sense, or do not makes sense, in their lives.”
