Law enforcement report

Prosecutors charged a 50-year-old Lawrence man with felony aggravated assault Wednesday afternoon in Douglas County District Court. Police said a woman reported that the man threatened her with a knife Friday during a domestic dispute in the 2400 block of Alabama Street. No one was injured.

Donald Southard was arrested Tuesday evening and booked into Douglas County Jail, jail records said. The suspect and 47-year-old victim also were involved in an argument Monday evening, during which a threat was made but no weapon was used, police said.

Southard, whose bond was set at $2,500, pleaded not guilty during his first appearance in court Wednesday and is scheduled to appear Oct. 29 before Judge Michael Malone, according to court records.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ A Burger King employee reported $2,047 in U.S. currency was stolen from the business at 1301 W. 23rd St. between Oct. 10 and Oct. 11.

¢ A 59-year-old Lawrence man reported a .45-caliber Colt pistol and $1,000 in U.S. currency were among the items stolen Oct. 18 in the 1000 block of New Hampshire Street. The estimated loss is $3,031.

¢ A 23-year-old Lawrence woman reported an IBM laptop, a Dell laptop, diamond ring and diamond necklace were among items stolen Oct. 19 in the 900 block of West 22nd Street. The estimated loss is $4,400.

¢ A 49-year-old Lawrence man reported subwoofers and a Rockford Fosgate stereo amplifier were stolen from a 2002 Isuzu Rodeo between Oct. 17 and Monday in the 700 block of West Sixth Street. The estimated loss is $1,500.

¢ According to a Kansas University Public Safety Office report, $2,100 worth of items were removed from a room in McCollum Hall between Oct. 15 and Sunday.

Condition Reports

¢ Errin Lang, the driver of a vehicle involved in an accident that killed a Eudora woman Monday, was in fair condition at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., according to a nursing supervisor Tuesday night. A hospital spokeswoman could not confirm Lang’s condition Wednesday. She said Lang was either discharged from the hospital, transferred to another hospital or declined to have her medical information released. Ryan Martinez, Lang’s passenger, was in good condition Wednesday at Kansas University Hospital in Kansas City, Kan.
