Bulls guard Hinrich has thumb surgery
Chicago ? Chicago Bulls guard Kirk Hinrich had surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right thumb and could be out for three months.
Dr. John Fernandez and Dr. Mark Cohen of Rush University Medical Center performed the operation Tuesday.
Hinrich was hurt Friday night in Chicago’s 100-83 victory over Phoenix when he tried to knock the ball away from the Suns’ Amare Stoudemire. The Bulls’ first-round pick in 2003 out of Kansas University, Hinrich has appeared in six games and averaged 8.3 points this season.
