Environmental activist, wildlife photographer to speak at KU

A Canadian photographer known for his photos of wild wolves and grizzly bears will speak this week at Kansas University.

Ian McAllister, co-author of “The Last Wild Wolves” and “The Great Bear Rainforest,” will give a multimedia presentation at 7 p.m. Wednesday at The Commons, in KU’s Spooner Hall.

McAllister is an environmental activist who spends his time documenting wildlife in British Columbia. He’s spent more than two decades exploring and photographing and wolves and bears that live in remote areas of coastal Canada.

The event is free and open to the public. A reception and book-signing will follow.
